Read the english link from http://newimc.indymedia.org

a) Decide if you want to get on that strict process to be accepted as an
indymedia site - on its own, its own editorial guidelines, its own
published database - by the global network.

b) Decide if you prefer to get on a more informal process to be accepted
as a sub-site of IMC uk - not on its own, with indymedia uk's existing
editorial guidelines which are potentially negotiable, with a shared
database - by indymedia uk.

if you decide a), you roughly can start right now to get organised with a
public meeting etc etc as the document says, you can ask me for help on
this or you can ask directly on new-imc at lists.indymedia.org. Ultimately
you will need to send that application form completely filled. All you
need to do is documented there really, all I would do is explain what says
there if something is not clear, and present you to the global network
once you have completed the process step by step. Two that i can remember
are to agree with the principles of unity and membership criteria or say
with what ones you do not agree and why. Complete agreement is not
expected as long as it is explained and shows that you have actually
debated it, as all sites are considered autonomous.

If you decide b), there are various things you should be doing:
1. subscribe to imc-uk-features, imc-uk-network list and imc-uk-process
list. For the last two it would be enough to have one 'liaison' to report
back here, if you don't all want to subscribe to it. But the
imc-uk-features list is innegotiable if you want to do editorial work on
the existing imc uk site and/or a future imc wales because the database is
shared and we need to report to eachother.
2. read the mission statement and editorial guidelines and agree to them
or explain in what points you do not agree to them (same as with the
principles of unity and membership criteria mentioned above really). Also
informative is 'the wiki', found in docs.indymedia.org -->> go to local,
europe, then uk.

2. Participate in the 'cleaning' of the uk newswire - this is reported in
the features list
3. Come to the network meeting - details will be posted in the two latter
lists mentioned above. You can of course come to the irc meetings too -
details on same lists.

there is nothing stopping you from doing any of all these things.
