[Imc-cymru] moving on

Hi all,
As there are quite a few new names on this list I'll clarify who I
am before putting my position on this issue. My name is Jim and I live in
Gorseinon, just outside Swansea. My politics are broadly Republican (in the
Welsh sense of the world!), a fairly deep shade of green, and a bit of Red
just for good measure! Having said this I'm pretty critical of what passes
today for the Left...
I am definitely interested in the idea of an Independent media site for
Cymru, there is an acute need for it at the moment, and I know an awful lot
of people who would support the idea to varying degrees, many of them quite
new to the political scene. This site should be an accurate reflection of
the community (not just the activist) scene in Cymru today and shouldn't be
limited by any particular political bias. It should be a forum for
INDEPENDENT thought and action.
As far as the history goes, I am a co-editor off the old Indycymru. I didn't
do much, but I did my bit. The main force sustaining Indycymru has always
been Ilyan, and he deserves a lot of credit for what can amount to a
sometimes thankless task. People who are new to this list should be aware of
this fact.
I've followed the (somewhat fractious) debate along this thread, but can't
participate much at the mo as my computer is nakkered. I'll do what I can,
where I can. As far as my position goes, I would like to see a new Indycymru
site along the lines of Indymedia Ireland. I would rather see the site
linked to the Global IMC. If a few people could sustain Indycymru over a
period of 4 years, then it's obviously do-able.
As far as help goes, any offers of assistance, technical or otherwise, in
the spirit of international co-operation and solidarity, will be gratefully
recieved. :-)
Cheers,
Jim.
