Hello Darren,

Are you the Darren who deregistered from the imc-cymru list some months
ago?

A full selection of the emails can be found at
http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-cymru/

Here are parts of a Welcome email sent to an apparently socialist joiner
some months ago:

"If you are the sort of Socialist who supported the 1939 Neath Abbey
branch of the Labour Party when they were expelled for being
anti-fascist then welcome indeed. If you are the socialistyouth who
posted up a load of plagiarised lies shortly before Indycymru was
sabotaged it would be a different matter".

"Indycymru has given support to many small Nations struggling for the
/>>/ independence necessary for their survival. And carries criticisms of
/>>/ Civilisation and everything else including Religions. But it is an
open
/>>/ space for everybody. This means that anyone can read it, and everyone
/>>/ can register to access it to submit news or opinion, or place
comment to
/>>/ already placed ones. There is no censorship except for
/>>/ criminal, libel, commercial advertising, obscenity and personal attacks,
/>>/ and some of those might be carried if interesting and instructive,
or if
/>>/ submitters make big enough fools of themselves. It is intended that
/>>/ everything else will be posted and (caustically?) "casuistically
/>>/ discussed if we think it's racist, sexist or any other thing we
/>>/ particularly dislike. If you chose conformity to walk through life,
/>>/ then don't visit us."

there was no reply from that joiner that I can recollect.

That application was sent to New IMCs last March, and Ana from UK or
London started to take an interest in ths Indycymru list, and has said
it was in response of that application. However she was determined to
see that Wales conformed to UK standards. What Indycymru needs is an
official Global UK statement that the Portuguese principle is now
unacceptable so the IndyCymru application is formally rejected. I
think its acceptance is important for the health of Indymedia.

There is another imc-wales list to join if you want to be censored by
the UK, is that the one you intended to join?

The first draft of the indycymru application to new imc is at
http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-cymru/2006-February/0218-4d.htm
<http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-cymru/2006-February/0218-4d.html>l
<http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-cymru/2006-February/0218-4d.html>
There were no objections or modifications put forward, it was rewritten
with no subsequent objections and then sent in.

Regards

Ilyan
