Consider the use of Gimp instead of photoshop. It is open-source and available for Windows as well as for Linux, I think but am not sure even for Macs. No $$$ to buy the program, 90% of the capability-and excellent online support. Just use any search engine to check a list of words that add up to your question, and you will usually get results in the first few pages. This goes for how to's, for bugs, you name it. Almost all open-source software is supported in this manner, meaning that both the software and the tech support too are free from and to the community.
For that matter, try the same search-engine approach for Photoshop if you already are running it. I don't know if the answers you get will be as complete, but give it a try before committing time or money to anything else.
