Dear Supporters and Friends,
 
We continue to appreciate your support. Mawonaj is your project where you come for great food from pan-African culture and cuisine and great revolutionary and spiritual experience. We are open Tuesday - Sunday from 11 am - 11 PM regularly, and are serving your favorite vegetarian and non-vegetarian breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Lunches are $6.50 til 4PM daily. 
 
NEW DEVELOPMENTS
 
There is now an added bar and hand-built lounge next door and upstairs, serving different kinds of drinks as well as food. 
[All beers are just $2.50 any time with membership. We recognize that some members of our community do not support the idea of alcohol, so we do not display it in the main area - only to members in the bar and lounge next door.] 
 
The lounge space upstairs offers comfortable seating for your relaxation from work or when gathering for meetings with associates, colleagues and friends. 
 
THE NEW LOOK AT MAWONAJ
 
The face of Mawonaj has dramatically changed. We have a sidewalk cafe now with green carpeting, hanging outdoor flowers and flower pots around. If you haven't seen the new look lately, it's something to enjoy. Bring friends and family. We are happy to be at your service.

Tue. July 12, Capoeira Angola from 6-8PM
            DAWN DC Meeting Upstairs Lounge from 5-8PM 
            Language Cafe - Evening from 8 - 11PM (If you would like to learn
            a new language, bring your books and a friends.)
            Breakfast served all day, lunch and dinner
 
Wed. July 13, Mwazi Wednesdays, Open Mic with Hip-Hop lean. 
             Its a 3+ hour event with high energy. Register at the door if you want
             to speak to a crowd of 40+ Host: D`Mite  8-11:30 PM  Damages $5 
 
Thu. July 14, Hip night with DC Youth Collective sponsored by AI
              6PM til 11PM 
              Those coming for food and private chats will be served in the 
              lounge or outdoor cafe
 
Fri. July 15, 
 
              Big Brother Jared Ball with Decipher - Freemix Radio-              Focus Group in Upstairs Lounge  -
              Courtney Dowe and Friends Dorje Davis and Bill Chase present
              acoustic rhythm & soul.
              Live performance from 9PM til...   Damages: $5 Sugg. Contrib
              Some proceeds to Global Mission Rescue -(www.rescueflgchildren -              helping children of persecuted Falun Gong/Falun Dafa practitioners)
 
Sat. July 16, 
              Live Band event from 9:00 PM til Midnight - Ishlab - and then!!!!!
              Masawuko and Mangezi, legendary revolutionarists will present:
              Africa Folk Funk and Township Jive Late Night... Be there when 
              its finally happening. The memories are just better.
 
Sun. July 17, BIG DAY
             The Coming of Tan by Riley Martin... from 3PM - 7PM. Tickets - 
             $20.00 sug. donation.  Don't miss!
