4) This week's summary
of under-reported news

Compiled by Bob Nixon

* A peace deal signed on July 17, could end the 30-year war for
independence in the Indonesian province of Aceh, the worst-hit area in
December's Asian tsunami.
* Colombian police seize 32,000 rounds of ammunition in crates with U.S.
markings, destined for an illegal paramilitary group that the U.S. State
Department says is involved in drug trafficking and terrorism.
* A new, loosely regulated 527 group, "The Alaska to America Energy
Initiative" was set up last year to lobby for the opening of the Arctic
National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas development.
