Hey all,
There is a group of folks interested in cycling from DC to Detroit for
the upcoming Allied Media Conference (June 18-20th) and the USSF (June
22-26th). Tentatively, the hope is to meet up in Philadelphia with
folks there and from New York before heading west to Detroit. The
trip will likely take around 10 days but exact dates are still
unknown. We are still waiting for a critical mass before making a
decision on whether to go before the AMC, for both, or just for the
USSF.
If you don't already have experience with long-distance cycling, there
will be opportunities for training rides between now and then. Also,
there will most likely be experienced touring riders allowing for
sharing of gear and knowledge sharing. If you are interested and feel
up to riding , head over to http://groups.google.com/group/dc2detroit
where most of the planning will happen. Do pass this on to anyone in
a town that will likely be on the route who would be interested in
riding or giving a yard to camp, couch/floor to sleep on, or a warm
shower (Baltimore, New York, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh,
Youngstown, Akron, Cleveland, Toledo).
In solidarity,
--
Dan
