     Of note, we have a Lawyer from the National Lawyer's Guild who has volunteered to help us sort through photo/video footage that we are unsure of before we release it to the public. He's scheduled to work with the Video Collective, but I'm certain that he'll be able to answer other questions as long as we address them in an appropriate way (and don't call him all at all hours of the day)

Legally, no. There's a great handbook for the rights of photographers at
http://www.krages.com/phoright.htm - but of course, recent trends show
your rights don't always matter.

There is, however, an Indymedia Principle of Unity, #3, that says IMCs
respect the right of activists who choose not to be photographed or
filmed.

In Pittsburgh, we generally have no problem with filming people, but we
always ask activists if they want to be interviewed before doing street
interviews. None of that Michael Moore "shove a camera in their face as
they run away" style business is directed towards fellow activists here in
the steel city.

We also have in practice interpreted that principle of unity to delay
posting of incriminating videos or photos pending consent from the
arrestee (or typically, the arrestee's lawyer) - if we have video of an
arrestee who is not on the sidewalk, or of an unarrest, we won't release
it without permission if we think it can be used against them.
