In addition, we're going to try to use the txtmob thing to inform people 
of actions that have been called in by affinity groups as wanting the 
media there.  I don't have a cell phone, so someone will have to explain 
to me/whoever else is working dispatch how to send the messages out (and 
how EXACTLY to subscribe) but I believe you go to www.txtmob.com get an 
account, join the BTS topic, and add the IMC group (??)

Our basic idea, which was announced at BTS spokescouncil, is such:

The person in the affinity group which is responsible for handling the 
media (either a support person nearby the action or someone in the action) 
calls the IMC dispatch.  At this point, we try to do live streaming radio 
coverage, add it to the razorwire (someone will need to set up whoever is 
doing dispatch to do this, I did dispatch for much of today and have no 
access to that), and send out a text message to IMCistas in the field with 
information on where the action is.

This isn't official policy or anything, it's just what we came up with 
quickly as the easiest (and most obvious) ways to get some form of 
coverage out there.

In addition, everyone should be aware of Indymedia's Principle of Unity 
that respects individuals rights not to be photographed or filmed.  If you 
see an action going on that you didn't find out about via the group 
seeking you out or IMC dispatch informing you about it, please identify 
yourself to the activists and ask (nicely!) if they'd like to be covered 
by the IMC.

This is a VERY VERY rough outline of how we're going to try to cover 
Thursday that a few of us came up with tonight.  There are plenty more 
things that we need to work out at the meeting, namely logistics for doing 
the above, getting a schedule for people working dispatch/radio and 
razorwire/txtmob, perhaps work on dividing the city up a bit, exchanging 
cell phone numbers, equipment testing, so on and so forth.
