hi,

until now, docs.indymedia.org has been hosted by the boum collective. however,
the server it was on had to be temporarily disconnected from the network and
powered off (unrelated colo reasons) and as there were encrypted partitions the
services have not automatically restarted. hence, the docs.indymedia.org site
has been down now for over 24 hours.

a few months ago, indymedia had acquired a new server for hosting the
docs.indymedia.org site; this was just after the twiki work camp in april, and
so we haven't had time to complete the move. the site was, however, backed-up on
a daily basis to the new server.

thus, the past day has been a mad rush between some of us to get the backup site
 functional. this has, essentially, been done - although there might be one or
two little problems to iron out over the next few days, and we are currently
waiting for the dns to be changed.

BUT - this is not an ideal situation!! one of the reasons this has happened is
cos there are too few of us trying to do too much. what we really NEED is more
HELP please. there are numerous ways to get involved which do not all require
lots of technical knowledge.

also via email at twikiadmin at indymedia.org (private archive) or on the
(public) list at imc-docs at lists.indymedia.org
