Here's my point of view based on the information we currently have:

Unless some information on a possible cause can be extracted from the
system logs (this should be attempted first of all) we should probably
expect this to be a hardware error.

in this case we may need to replace ram. running memcheck86+ should
allow us to check for such errors. EDAC
(http://bluesmoke.sourceforge.net/) will not work since, according to
http://google.com/search?q=cache:docs.indymedia.org/view/Sysadmin/KompostInfo#Hardware
komposts' hardware is not supported.

If it's not the RAM then it's probably some other hardware, such as the
mainboard, chipset or CPU. That's where it becomes difficult to diagnose
and where we may need to replace these parts and test them in other
computers.
