Hi imc-drupal-dev,

Here is a quick update on the work accomplished at the
imc-alternatives code-a-thon on Saturday.

A crowd of able and excellent people gathered on Irc for most of the
day to get a great start on the Alternatives IMC's drupal test
site. In John's words in the IRC log, here are some things that were
accomplished:

-- we set up a new drupal 6 site on josh's test server at domain23.info
-- we've started applying the styles nick developed, and are cranking
through the requested feature list - already basic open posting is
working, important imc-best-practices for ip anonymization are in
place, a friendly wysiwyg interface is in place to add content as
well as basic categories.
-- we're making progress on media uploads, transcoding, and in-browser playback
-- and are continuing to work on getting all the content types and
the fancy layout up and running
-- also we are documenting what we do here:
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Devel/ImcAlternativesDrupalSetup

I don't know if there is a specific plan for the next step or whether
those who were involved will just keep working on things and
communicate through the imc-alternatives list. After the New Year
we'll try to pin down a schedule. I've also promised to find a
moment after the new year to post some test content to see how things
go. Feel free to go to the domain23.info yourself and try out the
SolutionsWire.

Happy Gregorian new year to everyone.
Jay
