Hi, there's one thing I would like to point out about Github: It's a 
proprietary service, run with software that the users can't see or 
modify.  Gitorious.org is an equivalent project run using Free 
Software.  This means you could maintain your own private gitorious, or 
if they went bankrupt and disappeared you could revive the service 
yourself.

I myself have some code on Github and don't mean to sound preachy or 
worse, hypocritical here :) But I think this is something we should 
think about when setting up infrastructure for indymedia projects.
