hi,
ok, so our Boston Imc site is officially down now, and we have no idea how to fix it. I just sent an email to the Imc-tech to see if we can get someone who knows Dada to get it back up and shut it off, so the server doesn't die on us again.
In the meantime, I hope we can get a basic drupal site up? Could we maybe use some of the energy we had for the proposal to work on this? Ben I know is willing to have his team on it (although not necessarily the time), but I think it would be nice to take advantage of this to pull together a team to work on a distribution...
Would the imc-drupal team be interested? I think what I would like to avoid is re-inventing the wheel if people have made tons of progress on other sites (ie, radio indymedia).
I'll be happy to help on the content side of things, ie menus... Basically, I think the site gets the most use of:
- the Newswire
- a community Calendar
- a way to upload audio reports (community radios in Boston are extremely active)
- video reports (needs to include a way to embed videos)
- photo reports
- RSS feeds from US Indymedia and Global Indymedia (and Worcester Indymedia)
In an ideal world it would also have:
- Media in Our Community (links to other groups in Boston making media...)
- Other Press section (for outside the Imc)
- a Community Art section (similar to photos, but focused on local art pieces people can download for use)
- a "Blogwire", for people to upload links to their blogs
I wish I was a techie to be able to help, but I'm not... But mark I think had an idea on how I could be able to help, and I'm willing to do so.
best,
Sofia

I'd say they work basically the same.
I've not done a point by point comparison but probably some blogger has.
