Hi IMC drupalistas. So, we have this project kicking off in LA called
mobile voices / vozes moviles. Basically, we are going to do a workshop
with day laborers on how to publish stories directly from their
cellphones (text, photos, and callin audio clips. maybe video clips
too). The project has 3 components: 1. the workshops; 2. we're working
with some folks at UCSD who are gonna write j2me applications for the
Motorola iDen handsets we're using, maybe to make publishing easier for
project participants; 3. we need to set up a CMS that will basically
have all the needs of your average IMC, but optimized with the knowledge
that most content will be submitted from mobile devices.
I know that there have been various IMC projects to enable mobile
content submission and browsing, so we should be building from an
existing body of successful tools. But we need help setting up the CMS
and making sure it all works well.
Here's more info on the project: http://mobilevoices.net
Anyone who's interested, please respond either on list or to me offlist.
Oh yeah: it'll be drupal :P
peace
