Hi, Media Mover+CCK+etc. does seem far superior compared to the set of
modules that FilmForge is currently using (which to be fair were chosen
before MediaMover really hit the stage).
Given the "FilmForge" name I do feel like it should move more in the
direction of open-ended API modules that site architects can build off
of, dropping in custom tools and workflows where needed.
It's probably about time for a new rewrite of FilmForge; if anyone is
building a video-enabled drupal site it could be a great opportunity to
do more work on the profile.
Also FilmForge is missing some pieces like Panels integration (panels
are used on the demo site but never made it into the profile)
If only I could quit my day job (or clone myself).. I'd love to dive in
on a drupal 6 version of FilmForge, which would also involve working on
d6 versions of some components that aren't yet released..
By the way, there are lots of possibilities for video embedding..
indybay.org (not a drupal site) uses the flashembed jQuery plugin
http://flowplayer.org/tools/flash-embed.html which has worked great.
I've been thinking about switching from FLV to H.264 video for
Flowplayer to play. I'm also thinking about generating <video> tags for
Safari to play videos.
