[Imc-drupal-dev] [IMC-Tech] Knight Foundation Grant

Hi all, and hi ryan,
I wasn't part of the grantwriting team, and I happen to believe that
there's zero chance Knight foundation will directly fund Indymedia even
if we could come to consensus on taking their money ;)
However, I don't think we really need a flame war about it. I do think
there was reasonable amount of consensus among those IMCs and developers
who are trying to customize drupal that it's OK to seek funding for a
drupal IMC development push.
The grant was put together quickly, and it's only the first stage of a
two stage process. The next thing that would happen is Knight will ask
for a full grant proposal, and then there will be a period of a couple
months to try and hash out consensus among Indymedia Drupal developers
about what exactly goes in that proposal.
I would like to beg... plead! for us to not fight about this. At least
wait until we are asked for a full proposal ;)
peace

This has been so far an Imc-Drupal initiative, but that does mean we don't take seriously the imc-cms group goals or reservations/concerns about this proposal. Not saying "drupal" could've implied that we had imc-cms or global consensus on this, which is obviously not the case.
