[Imc-drupal-dev] [IMC-Tech] back on the knight foundation grant

hi,
Just a quick clarification that that amount of money was made thinking not only of creating a web site, but also for installation purposes for any Indymedia using drupal who might be interested in doing so. That amounts to a couple thousand dollars per Indymedia (for the 165 out there right now). That doesn´t mean that all Indymedias would go drupal, but we were hoping that the funds would benefit imc-cms groups globally... Of course, that is if there was consensus to ask for and use the funds...
There´s a lot more discussion going on at imc-communication at lists.indymedia.org
peace

This is a crazy amount of money, but in the US I've seen a single
custom drupal install exceed $120,000 (with a "phase2" planned for
another $100k!), and this did not include much customization, far less
than IndyMedia would want so in a corporate context $200k is probably
not too far off (again in the US). Knowing how much actual work is
involed I must say this particular bill made me think a bit about my
career choice!
Of course we are not a corporation so...let thedebate continue
