How much disk space have you got? If it's likely to be able to take the
anonymous viewer hit? If so have you seen my slightly insane, but highly
practical static HTML solution to proxying?

What it does give as the bonus over the standard proxy solution is when
the actual Drupal hosting PHP vserver gets /.'ed or whatever the mirror
doesn't go away. I'm quite happy to help set it up with anyone.
