Hello,

I'm the IMC scotland person behind the indymedia alba drupal 6 install
profile. While I can't speak for the whole collective yet (I will bring
this up at our next meeting on tue 27th october), as an individual
indymedia coder I'm interested in being involved in this project.

I noticed on the NEWSCHALLENGE PROPOSAL that you state the aims as
"Building a Drupal prototype for Indymedias around the world, to switch
from old DadaImc software.". The dada to drupal importer module we wrote
to do this for IMC scotland is in a fairly advanced state and would be a
nice start for this. It can, for example, import images from dada
articles as image attachments on drupal article nodes, preserving
thumbnails etc (iirc). We used this to import 2003 to april 2008 from
the old site to new one.

Since IMC scotland is now committed to using drupal for the foreseeable
future it makes sense that we get involved in this effort rather than
duplicating work.

solidarity,
