 IndyPress is a plugin for WordPress3 to enable OpenPublishing.

 The idea of IndyPress is to realize a simple Indymedia CMS that
no-tech user can configure and customize easly from the admin panel.

 We are developing this plugin that is an alpha version, becouse we
want migrate napoli.indymedia.org and roma.indymedia.org from Drupal to 
 WordPress. We want share the project to the Indymedia tech nodes that 
 are interested in it, and the idea is rebuild the plugin in order to 
 optimize it and develop the main feature that an Indymedia node use.

 CURRENT STATUS:

 It also comes with support for some features that are "standard" to 
 IMCs: support for categorization of multiple kinds (topic, 
 localization), multiple types of post (event and standard post), post 
 signaling/hiding.
 It provides a simple&powerful TinyMCE editor, supporting image/video 
 uploads, and embeds from a huge number of sites (whatever WordPress 
 supports, and thanks to the Embedly plugin, it is a lot).
 It's integrated with LiveBlogging plugin, so that it's easy to have 
 user-contributed live pages. This feature maybe usefull for an event's 
 direct.

 IndyPress is compatible with Wordpress 3 Multisite.

 There's still room for improvements; we're looking forward to:
 * Image "anonymizing" (EXIF removal, noise signature pollution?)
 * Faceblur
 * Easier pluggability: it should be easy to write plugins that 
 extend/modify IndyPress' behaviour
 * Internationalization

 Of course, IndyPress is free software (GPLv3).
