I think this all sounds like good gear, we can run the bulk of the media
centre basically on boxes that are ancient as long as they have network
cards, monitors and keyboards.  Personally I am always of the "grab any
piece of gear you can get your hands on" mentality, I would even grab
the laserprinters which could be pretty handy for making leaflets /
signs around the centre unless there are transport or storage
difficulties.  The good thing about old gear is that it is usually
better-supported by the Linux operating systems that we're going to use
to power the bulk of the infrastructure than new gear is. 

So, go for it if you can ab, it maybe will take care of the bulk of our
problems - if the boxes don't have network cards it's a hell of a lot
easier for us to transport 40 cards than 40 computers.
