Hello
Just a reminder about this week's Indymedia meeting before the
Alternative Media Convergence of the weekend.
This meeting is important for all of those in London (or coming to
London) that want to help prepare, and do the last bit of planning for
the convergence.
The meeting is this thursday 12 at the Institute for Autonomy, 76-78
Gower Street, London WC1. Nearest tubes Euston and Russel Square.
Meet up from 7.30.
There will be some feedback from the latest situation in Scotland in
relation to the IMC set up, and other aspects of the mobilizations.
We will also have to decide on the final agenda for the two days of the
convergence, as well as decide upon things such as how the discussions
should run, working groups and which ones, etc.
There are also still practical issues to clarify, such as:
- How to sort out plenaries given the fact that the bigger room can't
fit more that (lets say) 50 people cramped like sardines. If we feel
that we definitely need access to the back garden we will need to
negotiate this with the IFA folk. I actually mentioned that a while
ago, but since then I've been a bit off lists coz problems with
computer .. sorry.
- Feed back people in the Institute for Autonomy about numbers expected
(for food), and how many people we think will need accommodation. How
many registrations? Who's got a clear view of this? ... search me.
- Select which rooms do we need for the convergence and prepare them
(chairs, etc ...)
- Do we do a welcoming thing on Friday night for people that may arrive
early?. If so, what? ... a bit of music? ... some films? ... or just
hang out and have a drink or two :-)
Anyway, all in all, nothing that can't be sorted ... if enough of us
show up and focus for a little bit :-)
soon
