Here is an audit of IT stuff at LARC that is not in use and quite likely
to be left overs from the ESF IMC (this should be confirmed with Kriptic).
x25 power leads
x5 AT keyboards
x14 PS/2 mice
x28 ethernet leads various lengths including long ones
x1 24 port hub (3COM superstacker 3C16441 - not switch, not 100mbps)
x3 4 port mini hubs
The hubs will be useless is we are running thin clients as we will want a
100mbps switch to ensure sufficient bandwidth. Hubs would be fine is we
run local processes as we wouldn't be using much bandwidth.
There may well be other stuff available abut there are NO monitors.
Anyway. what this audit seems to mean is this...
1. we don't need anymore network leads
2. we have around half of the power leads we need
3. we have around hald the keyboards we need
4. we still need mice (around 26 - 36)
5. we still need to source monitors (25 - 35)
Since monitors are bulky heavy and fragile we should try to source them in
Scotland is possible.
