moin!

Hi all,

The domain indymedia.org expires on October 27th, about 2 weeks from
now. If this expires most every Indymedia site will become unavailable,
and even worse someone may have the chance to "steal" the domain name.
I'd like to propose that the funds to pay for 3 more years of
registration be allocated immediately. The cost is $14.95/year, for a
total of $44.85

Micah

Hi all,

The indymedia.org mailing lists are hosted on a machine located at the
Seattle Community Colocation Project, which is generously run by Riseup.
This machine has been sitting there in the colo churning out our
communications, blocking spam, building communities through everyone's
passionate emails. Unfortunately, it has been sitting there also eating
power, taking up space, and pumping the internet through its veins. All
of these things cost money.

The machine has been there since August of 2004, and we should have been
paying $72/month (this is how much everything costs[1]) up until July,
when the rate went down to $68/month. I'd like to propose that we pay
the back amount of $1064.00 ($792 for the 11 months at $72/month, and
$272 for the four months up to and including October at $68/month).
Additionally, I'd like to propose that we setup a regular payment of $68
each month (via Paypal, if possible), so that we don't fall behind in
payments in the future.

Micah

ps - I think we could buy a new machine for sarai that consumes a lot
less power and get the monthly rate down to somewhere around $40-50/month
