Have been trying to volunteer for ages, no response, which shows how
defunct things are. Anyway, here goes, I volunteer again.
About the proposal, see below:

Yes, and let's do it fast. We could maybe have a meeting in Mumbai or
something, or do it over email?

This must be time-bound. In my opinion, IMC India meets a real need; the
problem has been on the editorial and admin. side. So we say a month,
get our act together, and have the News Wire functioning thereafter.

No, No! It meets a real need. If we can get organised in a
month or less, there is no need for this.

City-based may not work. The need is for "national". For city-based,
there are already others. E.g., in Goa where I live, we have Goanet
mailgroup, which meets the need (though it is not exactly a News Wire,
it allows posting of everything and you can get all News and Views
there). But what "progressive" open publishing site is there nationally?
