[Break A Silence]

Great intro., Chris, and if administering the list is truly little work, I'd be willing to help out. My name is Crystal Allene Cook and I am a fiction writer and teacher orginally from Appalachia but now living in Los Angeles (two years) and about to go into grad. school for the 100th time (and working full time as a junior high school teacher). I have been involved with Radio IMC here in Los Angeles about half a year, and just started a monthly radio show, "Break A Silence,"  with them/it. I am also involved in economic and debt relief for the Global South, Code Pink, and am in the process of forming with other local folks a coalition of volunteers, artists, and organizations to put on a progressive (with a capitol 'P') voter registration and voting reform event to tour Los Angeles community organizations and churches over the next 16 months.  The website should be up by the end of the week  at www.register2004.org  if anyone wants to check it out. I previously lived in NYC a long time, busy in the punk scene and education and education issues and have spent a lot of time in Germany and Russia. I don't speak Arabic -- but do speak German, Russian, and Spanish -- if anyone needs help in those languages. Cheers!Crystal
