Dear Aidan,

Apologies if this is a duplicate message. I’m having
slight problems with my internat access here in Iraq
just now :-)

Rob Collier suggested I get in touch with you
regarding our project to help some students here start
an independent newspaper. 

We published our first issue yesterday, and hope to
continue publishing weekly from here on out. We have
had a website donated through indymedia. It's
currently down, but should be back up shortly at:
www.almuajaha.com

I could also send you articles from the first issue if
you'd like.

NUJ has pledged some money toward the project, which
is much appreciated!, but without more serious
sponsorship, I'm not sure we're going to be able to
keep this going. We're still doing the whole paper on
my laptop, and out of my hotel room...

Which is a shame. I do believe that if we had 6 months
to develop the paper, and build a readership, it could
become self-sustaining. It's just very difficult to
make it self-supporting from the start...
