Hi peepl

I'm not blocking/supporting - I think this whole affair is bullshit.

As far as I can see, brisbane will still have the indymedia 'logo'
and url - if the proposal goes ahead. I could be wrong, the 'mixed
messages' from some collectives have only added to my/the general
confusion.

So Kimci - what exactly changes if this proposal is blocked? Bris get
three months to mount a defence? Then what? After even more months of
time-wasting angst and disharmony - we all see your side of things
and apologise?

- Seem likely?

I've never understood your need to keep this drama rolling (even to
the extent of threatening CAT and Oceania with disaffilation) after
your successful 'putsch'.

Your implications of Stalinism ("show trials" - "centralism") are
just offensive. A different story if Global had censured Cat and
Oceania on your behalf, one assumes.

Kimci - "We still want Oceania to answer for its actions but we have
never set them a deadline. We gave CAT 18 months and we haven't acted
on that.."

- Were they guilty of something? Did I miss the trial?

Are you so ignorant of IMC (autonomous) principles, that you fail to
understand why global would prefer regional solutions?

If individual collectives want to take brisbane indymedia off their
cities links - that's up to them. The darwin crew have never had any
intention of doing so. A 'pariah' indymedia is (I believe) a logical
absurdity. PoU.

As to - the "old, big, scary, entrenched" indymedias?" :-)

- The ones that allow their sites to be a 'platform' for people
attacking activists?

- The ones that allow disruption on their 'newswires' - to the
detriment of Independent Media's Credibility and the people we serve?

- Those ones?

How the "old, big, scary, entrenched" indymedias can berate
brisbane.indy on that point is beyond me. We bloody can - without
hypocrisy.

And Kimci (and others) suggest you lose the bureaucratese. It is the
language of the State.
