Rainbow Circle Films is a Cape Town based Production Company, which is currently producing an award winning series of short documentary programmes to license to the SABC to be broadcast as a short documentary series package.

We commission films, work with filmmakers who have works in progress, and also include completed films that have been produced by independent filmmakers. In the previous series we included student documentary films from South African universities.



We therefore would like to invite your institution to submit short documentary films for consideration for inclusion in the next Ikon series, which is due to be broadcast in March and April.



The IP rights of all the films are held by the filmmakers, except in the case of the tertiary institution, where rights are reserved by the institution due to the nature of the student films.



Please advise on whether or not your institution is interested in this platform.  

 

The licensing fee is not significant, and the national broadcast platform is beneficial to the filmmakers who are selected and the institutions involved.



Many of the Ikon filmmakers have been invited to festivals and many have won awards for their work.

 

 

The deadline for submissions is 5th February 2010.
