[imc-korea] Wiki topics in 'Local' web

Hi!

It's becoming a general problem that people, especially from newly
founded IMCs, create new WikiTopics[1] in the 'Local'[2] WikiWeb[3]
which do not have the IMCs name prepended, use non-WikiWord[4] names or
some other names which may collide with the naming of other IMCs and
make it impossible to find out which IMC this topic relates to.

An example for this would be:
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/3212005
(there are plenty others, see [5])

In my opinion, this problem is mostly caused by the lack of good
documentation. While there are notes on this within the current
documentation, these notes are shattered all over the several docs.

The imc-docs working group is aware of this and intends to improve this.
However, until this takes place I would like new-imc and all recently
founded IMCs to ask people to follow these best practice rules:

When choosing a name for a new topic[1] in the 'Local' web[3]

- - always prepend your local IMC abbreviation to the name
example: You want to create 'MyTopic' for your local IMC which is IMC
Tokelau, so you name it 'ImcTokMyTopic'

- - if you add a date, revert the order of day, month and year, using
YearMonthDay style (this makes sorting easier if you have multiple logs)
example: You intend to make your IMCs (IMC Tokelau) chat log of Dec 24th
2004 available, so you call it ImcTokChatlog20051224

- - make sure you use a WikiWord for your topic name

- - use only alphanumeric characters for the name

- - make sure you always use the same prepended abbreviation throughout
your IMC so you achieve consistency

Following these basic rules is neccessary in a shared web such as
'Local'. However, similar rules should be applied for all webs.

It would be very nice if new-imc could spread this to any new IMC.
