RE: I feel attacked, marganilized, and lied about by Genelle's blatant attempt

and I believe Alana feels the same. If our feelings matter.
My comments: I agreed with Genelle to post to the general list so we could get more opinions on the issues. Re: Genelle only giving her side of the events, she is not capable or responsible for giving other peoples' side or views of the events. No one has prevented anyone from stating their side of events or their opinions on this issue.
Your feelings DO matter. Everyone's feelings matter here. We have pretty much beaten to death our opinions on the issues of the note, freedom of speech, and censorship. And it seems obvious that each one of us has a different priority and opinion.
The bottom line as "I" see it is this: The debate (argument) on whether the article in question threatens the continuation of the website should be temporarily put on hold. And the debate on freedom of speech as an imc priority should also be put on hold for now. We should do some research on other imc's and also if possible wait for some legal opinion.
What we should do now, imo, is work on an alternate proposal regarding only the pig note in question and work toward consensus-- a decision that we are all comfortable with. Each person's feelings and comfort is equally important. It is my understanding that we do not have a "majority rules" operation. This consensus may take weeks but it is very important, imo, and would be in the best interest of lvimc and in the best interest of each individual person.
If and when we come to a consensus it will be very rewarding to know that we care enough about each other, and that we could come to consensus with this very difficult and controversial issue.
I also think we should try to focus on one issue at a time re: all the proposals.
Re: today's editorial meeting, I have opted not to go. I think the hostile atmosphere and tensions are running too high for me to be comfortable there today. I would like to continue this discussion thru this e-mail list and hope that soon we can civily and with mutual respect for one another work toward a consensus.
Also, I am hoping that you are all updated on the posts. And I hope that some positive results will come from today's meeting. Please update us with meeting notes.

Is it not understandable that it seems like an attack in the context of a
post that goes on to state lies about what has and has not been proposed and
who has and has not participated in the conversation?
It is interesting that Genelle feels ignored and marganilized, and
apparently we are to blame, but we are to now forgive her for not taking the
care to read other people's posts and proposals carefully enough to get
their actual content, or even bother to see how many people have responded.
Seems a little one sided.
I feel attacked, marganilized, and lied about by Genelle's blatant attempt
to bring this dispute to the general list and give only her side of events,
and I believe Alana feels the same. If our feelings matter.
