IMC Leeds-Bradford Collective Meeting 24.5.09

Minutes

Present JD, Ptg, MR, AF

OUTREACH / PUBLICITY MATERIALS
We need to make some posters; ideas discussed; possibility of getting
some professional banners made for free. All this to be ready for the
trip to Glastonbury, where JD has got a pitch in the Green Futures field
(sharing with Veggies catering campaign). Also we talked about making a
bike-powered mobile media centre; JD has been stripping down a generator
and Ptg already has a mobile soundsystem that might be adapted.

MARX IN SOHO
Ptg and MR want to coordinate with this Levy Arts touring production to
put it on in Bradford and Leeds respectively, under an Indymedia banner.
Both to liaise further with promoter. Suggested dates around the end of
July.

MODERATION
One more member now trained up and part of the team. Alright!

DEVELOPMENT
Content creation still slower than we'd like, but this is largely due to
people having exams etc. at the moment- there are at least a couple of
audiovisual pieces in the pipeline. Some people are working on other
media projects that need to be reported in our newswire. We've now
merged with York. Lots of ideas and tentative plans about what to do
next. Watch this space.

FUTURE MEETINGS
As promised, we're now having at least every other meeting away from
Leeds. These dates were set:

July 5th 2009 - Green Planet, Scarborough
July 19th 2009 - 1 in 12 club, Bradford
August 9th 2009 - The Common Place, Leeds

... all starting at 12 noon prompt, and finishing 4ish.

All of these meetings are open to anyone who wants to get involved -
please spread the word, forward these dates around your networks, and
let this mailing list know if you want to host a meeting in your town or
neighbourhood.
