Hello everybody,
Pennie has been in discussion with Chris from ResonanceFM and has agreed
a show of 1 hour beginning in October, possibly on Tuesday evenings
(TBC). Planet doesn't want to write stories regularly anymore, so Pennie
has come with a proposal for a new show format based on individuals
within the collective taking on responsibility for coverage of
particular issues and producing 5 - 10 min packages for the show each week.
These "audio columnists" will hopefully acquire interest, expertise and
contacts in depth within their subject area and the hope is that this
will generate more high quality material that will be syndicate-able/
podcastable/reusable by other media collectives across the world.
Initially we need a minimum of six contributors. So far:
FTP: Boycotts
Zoe: World bank
Pennie: Middle east
Dougie: Environment, anti-militarism
Trevor: Urban green issues, transportation
(all TBC)
We welcome material, packages, participation from others. Ideally, there
would be a minimum of 9 - 12 regular contributors to avoid overburdening
any individual.
We plan meetings, trainings, in the next three weeks. We'd like to offer
technical support (e.g. equipment loans) to enthusiastic newcomers, but
the last lot of minidiscs and mics disappeared apparently. Also we don't
have any money, but if anyone can contribute equipment, expertise, or
money we'd certainly welcome it.
Comments, offers of help, all sought.
Regards to all,
D.
