Hello and cheers tony for the minutes

Yeah, I'd like to be able to dispose of some dosh when we are ready to
go live with the new site. The mains reason being that I think it will
need quite a lot of publicity, plus I think we should also organise
some sort of launch / exhibition / party event, and this costs money.

Well, it is true that London imc can afford this now, but it is also
true that the network seems to rely on the London kollective to come up
with whatever funds may be needed. I don't think that it should be too
difficult for the network to raise collectively the sum of £179. I
don't know, but I'm a bit uneasy with the underwritten expectation that
the London folk will always come up with the goods. Anyway, I just
wanted to make the point for the record, but if the meeting decided to
send £250 then so be it, I won't oppose it.

That is a very good idea imho. I am interested in participating in such
a debate in a live situation, as I can't afford the amount of time one
needs to spend to be able to engage in an email flurry such as the one
we've had in the features list lately.

To come up with a set of proposals for the network meeting would be
very helpful i believe.

Yeah, great, it's getting better by the time. I was at the camp, and I
felt that the whole process was much more geared into massaging the
mainstream and corporate media so they would echo the camp 'favorably',
than in building on the 'movement's' self-sustained infrastructure
(i.e: our own, independent, and alternative media structures)

It's also funny to see how all the groups and networks now involved in
the climate camp would remember the existence and usefulness of
indymedia when no-one else in the corporate sector would be interested
in the issue (i.e; it wouldn't sell papers). Now that 'climate change'
is such a seller, and thus the liberal media needs to echo it so to be
'at the forefront' of journalism, the climate campers can afford to
forget indymedia.

But, in relation to the cc photo show, i was assured by mini-mouse that
it wasn't a conscious decision taken for tactical or political
motivations to omit indymedia in the show, but rather "a mistake", and
that they would be making another canvas with photos of the indymedia
set up at the camp. The last thing he told me when we spoke about this
was "next time you see the show there will be an indymedia canvas" ...
remember that mm? :-)

Could the possible south london meeting of the 21st be held on the 22nd
instead if it ends up happening? I can't do the 21st, and I'd like to
be there.

cheers
