funny you should mention that 'major reports' page, cos today I was  
constructing a similar page 'timelines' - pulling together all the  
timelines that i could find on the site and adding links to the  
frontpage feature articles (and the precis major reports texts). It's  
here:

the idea was to sort of promote the whole collective reporting thing  
(as well as being an archive). I think sometimes the whole timeline  
reporting and dispatch operation fails to get the recognition it  
deserves as it's not really promoted in twitterworld.

it's quite a lot of impressive reporting when it's all pulled together  
- and that's just the stuff that have had timelines done for them.

it's not linked anywhere yet as it's really just a proposal, and the  
text on it could say a bit more about how people can input / get  
involved and link to some clearer explanations of how it all works (eg  
dispatch, mobile publishing etc).

the page title can of course be changed to make it fit in with a  
better synched bunch of explanations.
