[Imc-mayday-collective] Bart's block

Hi Mayday

So, entirely predictably, Bart has blocked the new-imc proposal. In my
view this is quite consistent with the consensus process - because
attempts had not been made to deal with his problems the proposal was
being rushed and as a result a block is not unreasonable.

As your liaison, I am going to make some suggestions which may or may not
halt Bart's block but I think will certainly help your progress.

1) I think that you should leave dealing with new-imc to your liaison and
Radicale.

2) I think you should take a reflective and self-critical, rather than a
reactive and self-righteous approach. You are going to have to make some
admissions of error here. I don't think there is any collective in the UK
that hasn't made some mistakes over the whole gateway-303 affair. Rather
than always pointing the finger at someone else you should be asking
yourselves 'What did we get wrong?', 'What could we have done better?' and
adding the answers to your documentation.

3) You should start asking yourselves what you are willing to concede.
When I spoke to Radicale last night he was suggesting that you weren't
willing to back down on small things because then you'd always be backing
down. I think this is the wrong approach here and suggests that no
negotiation is possible (in which case I don't think you'll ever get
through the process). I think you should start thinking about strategic
negotiation.

I hope this will help with the application
