  1:00 PM to whenever

  We will meet in the field across the street from 1414 Drake St.   
  Look for the purple balloons.

  BRING:  A dish to pass, meat or meat alternative to grill, and drinks.   Please, so we don't add to the landfill, bring plates and utensils. 

  Also consider bringing your favorite Cuban CD's, dominoes, frisbees, a blanket or chair, bug repellent, and anything else that you want.

  PROVIDED:  Grills and charcoal, CD player, good company.

  RAIN OR SHINE:      If the weather isn't perfect, we will move the picnic to Rachel's house at 1414 Drake Street, so come rain or shine!

(probably 3pm & after will be the greatest numbers, including a few remarks by Ricardo Gonzalez (recently returned from major meeting in Cuba of Cubans abroad), Raul Galvan of the Milw. Sister City Assn. and Art Heitzer of the WI Coalition to Normalize Relations with Cuba & NLG Cuba subcommittee www.nlg.org/cuba.

Here are two sets of directions, the most simple and the shortest: 

MOST SIMPLE:
>From Milwaukee, take I94 west to Madison.  
Exit onto 39/90 east/south.
Exit onto highway 12/18 (the beltline) heading west.  
Take the Park Street exit.  
Turn right onto Park Street and go about two miles.  
Turn left onto Drake Street. 
Vilas Park will be on your left about six blocks down.
Park either in the zoo parking lot (the corner of Drake & Randall) or on the street.

FASTEST:
>From Milwaukee, take I94 west to Madison.
Take WI 30 west.
Merge onto US 151 S (East Washington Ave)
Follow US 151 S as it snakes through the isthmus, around the capitol, along the lake, with numerous turns.
US 151 S eventually merges with Park Street.
Turn right onto Drake Street.
Vilas Park will be on your left about six blocks down.
Park either in the zoo parking lot (the corner of Drake & Randall) or on the street.
