Proposed Agenda/Discussion items:

1. Our Cuba travel petition campaign is nearing the "finish line." Can you
help?

President Bush or his campaign by the election! -- Can you print & try to
fill up a sheet in the the next 10 days (18 signatures per page)? Just
click on http://www.wicuba.org/ftt%20petition.doc; we'll also post an info
flyer to share with people!]

2. Other impact on Presidential/VP campaign & Congressional races in
Wisconsin: we had a very successful 4th Congl. Dist. Candidates Forum in
August. Now we'd like to quickly send a survey to each candidate re key
U.S./Cuba issues.

can also view/tape that film if you have access to Sundance channel 440 on
Warner Cable in Milw., Tuesday Oct 12 at 6pm Central time; details below.)
Flyer is attached, and its text is below. All proceeds will go for Hurricane
relief in Haiti & Cuba.

A. Flyer text for the November 9th program:

Archbishop Desmond Tutu, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, asks Americans:

"Is this something you want done in your name? Isn’t it time there was the
same sense of outrage that people had about apartheid? That people should
have had about the Holocaust? What would happen if it was Americans held by
another country in these conditions?"

A multimedia presentation based on the book Guantanamo: What the World
Should Know, by Michael Ratner, President of the Center for Constitutional
Rights, and featuring the Australian feature documentary (2004) "The
President vs. David Hicks." Mr. Hicks, a young Australian, was held in
Guantanamo without charges for over two years, and now faces a US military

B. THE PRESIDENT VERSUS DAVID HICKS
directed by Curtis Levy (Australian, 2004, 81 MINS, Color)
Showing: Tuesday Oct.12, 2004, 6:00 PM (central time)

This is Sundance's description: The father of a young Australian who
embraced fundamentalist Muslim ideals, and came to be labeled a "unlawful
combatant" by President Bush, retraces his son's journey from Adelaide to
Guantánamo Bay in this compelling documentary by Curtis Levy. With excerpts
from letters to family and friends and interviews with a former Guantánamo
detainee and a Northern Alliance commander, this disturbing and
thought-provoking film contemplates the transformation of a naïve horse
trainer and rodeo rider into an anti-Semitic acolyte.
