I think we get into an iffy area anythime we link, but if someone is willing to read throught the content and make sure it's legally ok and generally doesn't violate any of our editorial policies I'm fine with it. I like the idea or expanding indymedia as a resource. I don't think the book promotion is a permanent feature on his site so I'm not concerned with that.
I also like the idea of changing the wording of the "local interst" button. "Local content" is a good suggestion. Maybe also making it a bit more prominent. I hate seeing local stories drop off the page so quickly and getting lost in some of the world wide crap.
