A Screening of "Arlington West" with Senator Becky Lourey!
Join us Thursday, June 1st for a great event! Leaders in the peace
community are hosting a special benefit screening of the documentary film,
"Arlington West" (synopsis below) to support Becky Lourey and her
candidacy for Governor. The screening will be at the Riverview Theatre,
located at 3800 42nd Avenue South in Minneapolis. The box office opens at
5:00 PM for the 7:00 PM screening.
Senator Lourey is a Gold-Star Mother; one of the highest ranking
political officials in the nation to have lost a child -- her son, U.S.
Army Kiowa helicopter pilot Army Chief Warrant Officer Matt Lourey -- in
the current Iraq war. No matter where people stand on the issue of this
war and what our nation needs to do in Iraq from here on out, when Senator
Lourey shares her stand on issues of war and peace, people listen.
Serving as Master of Ceremonies for the event is activist Jack
Nelson-Pallmeyer. Jack is Associate Professor of Justice and Peace
Studies at the University of St. Thomas where he has helped build one of
the best undergraduate peace studies programs in the country.
This is a not-to-be-missed event. Please come! And bring a few friends and
neighbors!! Tickets are ten dollars but additional contributions to the
Lourey campaign are welcome.
Local peace organizations are invited to participate in this event by
sharing their work. Please contact Brenda at 651-917-8400 ext. 16 or
