"CINCO DE MAYO PEOPLE'S FORUM" TO BUILD BRIDGES
BETWEEN BLACK & BROWN @ ASHE IN NEW ORLEANS
Dear arts communities,
In the wake of the national demonstrations for
immigrant rights, ArteFututo Productions and the Ashe
Cultural Arts Center in New Orleans is hosting a Cinco
de Mayo People's Forum to bring black and brown people
together in a night of community dialogue. Ashe
executive director Carol Bebelle is in great support
of having the center open its doors to the thousands
of Latino immigrants engaged in the reconstruction of
the city. This night of dialogue/noche de dialogo
will be one of many that will take place at Ashe to
bring these two cultures together to address the
challenges of rebuilding New Orleans.
