here's the email i sent on behalf of indymedia to bloggers:
"Hi Bloggers!
New Orleans Indymedia wanted to extend an invitation to join our low-volume
announcement list for feature articles and events.
In the past, we have tried to figure out how indymedia and the blogging
community can be mutually beneficial. Since linking and commenting is
blogging currency, we want to give that exposure and traffic to the bloggers
who want to cross post on indymedia. Essentially, we're encouraging all
bloggers with politically, culturally and socially relevant posts about New
Orleans to post the initial paragraphs as a tease, then put in your blog's
url. Think of it like old NY Times articles that show the first 5 lines,
then make you pay for the rest. Except in this arrangement, readers can
click your url and get immediate free satisfaction to finish the post.
I really think this can work and I hope it will be the first step so that we
can mutually aid our missions to be publicly engaged. Suggestions are always
welcome. Send an email to "imc-neworleans at lists.indymedia.org"
sincerely,
Matt Olson
Site Manager, New Orleans Indymedia."
