Hi,
Glad to see that this project came to fruition so fast... I listened to the
first file and it sounds pretty darn good...
>From a tech perspective it might be nice to have the files made available in
the leftbar or even above the razor wire area on the front page (as was done
on FTAA IMC)
It would be helpful if we could figure out how to stream the archived
content for people who don't have high bandwidth connections and also if
someone stops listening after 4-5 minutes then that way it doesn't gobble up
bandwidth from a server perspective. This would allow for a greater reach
for the program since most of us don't live close enough to Portsmouth to
listen live or if you miss the live stream over the internet.
Does anyone know what type of rights we have over the redistribution of this
content?
Good job,
-Art

Subject: [Imc-nh] Indy Air is On the Air!
Hi all,
Well, we did it! The first show aired Saturday Oct 16th at 3 pm thanks to
all the hard work of Amy, Steve, Brian and Tom and with the support of
Hillary. It was fantastic! Spectacular! Well done! Thank you all for making
it happen.
So we set up the next production night as Wednesday October 20th, 7 pm. We
need a sound editor and an engineer! I have downloaded the program Audacity,
that was recomended by Hilary and Prometheus Radio. I will begin training on
it next week. But we need the skill of experienced sound editors!
So 7 pm next Wednesday. The Button Factory, 855 Islington Street, Studio
318.
Here are the program suggestions that came up at an improptu meeting on
Friday night:
Anna Gyorgy The International Case for US Regime Change" will be recorded
at the UU church on Tuesday. Stanley is also going to try to interview her.
or
We have the 40 minute recording of Military Families Speak Out. (MSFO)
I wanted to get something on the upcoming Halloween Parade, so I have set up
an interview with Chris Smith, coordinator of the parade. I thought we could
talk about the arts, dissent, death, Halloween and Portsmouth. He is coming
on Wed night at 7 so I would like to be set up with a recorder, microphone
and instructions so I can learn how to do this. Can someone help me do this?
It would be helpful to know who can come on Wednesday night. Please reply to
this email.
Then Saturday, we need an engineer from 2:30 to 5:00 to play the show. Also
reply to this email.
The format we followed for the first show was:
Intro to the show
10 Minutes news segment
1/2 hour interview
Bits of music
40 minute prerecorded talk or presentation
Fill remaining time with political music
ANY WAY THAT YOU OR A FRIEND WOULD LIKE TO GET INVOLVED IS MORE THAN
WELCOMED!
We will need teams of folks to work together to produce each show. We need
political music, sound editing skills, production ideas, announcers,
engineering training and interviewees/interviewers!
We started brainstorming for the next few shows as well, which we can
continue to do on Wednesday:
October 30 - Interviews with Olivia Zink (America Coming Together) and
Claire (Leaugue of Pissed off Voters - Youth vote) on elections, voting,
etc. Could include a piece on: Questions one needs to answer before casting
a vote.
Investigating the Spiritual aspects of Halloween from the Mythical,
historical, spiritual, and musical perspective with spooky music
Nov 6 - Answers one need to have after casting a vote. Plus? Maybe we need
to think about one show if Bush wins, another in Kerry wins, and what if
mass mayhem breaks out? The main piece of the show could be how we move
forward, regardless of who wins.
We are meeting with folks from the Boston Social Forum and would like to use
the radio program and NH IMC to bring together a NH Social Forum and the
following year a Regional Social Forum.

So ... Hope to see many of you soon! Feel free to stay in touch via email if
you can't make the next meeting!
