[Imc-normal-illinois] Starting a NARAL chapter in Bloomington. :)

n the wake of Bush's re-election, it has become increasingly clear
that what passes as the "moral fiber" of most Americans has claimed
the forefront of modern day issues. Gay marriage, abortion rights,
freedom of religion - these topics are likely to break friendships and
start arguments more than any other issue in the past.

That's why it's important to know what you stand for, to be willing to
get up and fight for what you believe in. As an advocate for Planned
Parenthood, I was appalled to find that there was no NARAL Pro-choice
chapter in Illinois. As a liberal state, it is up to us to be more
organized and more willing than conservative states. Abortion rights
is one of the issues that won the presidency for Bush. Don't let our
rights decay and slide down a slope of ignorance and prejudice.

Anti-choice advocates are stronger than ever. They're attempting to
implement legislation to completely take away a women's right to
choose. Women have the right to their own body. If we don't stand up
and fight, who will?

If you're interested in helping to make Illinois a more tolerant place
for women's rights, please email me at pixiehasfight at gmail.com. There
will be a meeting of like-minded individuals shortly after the new
year, we need your help to win this fight.

Melinda
