Dear all,	

I am an MSc Media Research and Analysis student at City University in London. As a part of my dissertation project, I am inviting you to participate in an online survey of Indymedia users. The survey form can be accessed via my university’s website at: http://www.staff.city.ac.uk/psychstudies/Indymedia/Survey.htm

The purpose of the survey is to gather basic information about the users of Indymedia. I am trying to get some understanding of how the Indymedia websites are being used. My study aims to shed light on wider issues that evolve around the Internet and the emergence of global communities and how people’s role in relation to the media may be changing.

You can either answer anonymously, or if you choose to, you can give your email address for the purpose of possible interviews at a later stage of my study and also if you are interested in receiving a summary of the survey results by email.

All information will be treated confidentially and will not be passed to third parties. The results will be presented in a form that does not allow any individual's answers to be identified. The total length of time for completion of the survey is less than 10 minutes.
