Tom,
Judging from peoples responses to this debate on this list, I don't think you have too much to worry about. That said I do think mark is right to raise such challenges. Please don't take it personally and understand we all have different ways in which we debate. Please do not mistake someones rhetorical style for aggression and arrogance.

I don't see why I should have to justify every point of our politics in order to gain your approval for us to post to the site. Your demands that I do so smack of not only authoritarianism but a very arrogant attitude towards fellow activists who you clearly know very little about, beyond skimming our website for quotes. All of the information you've asked for is freely available on our site and on indymedia (I'm sure you'll find lots of information, links, and the kind of debate you seem to be wanting if you just search Indymedia UK for 'Cuba'). Of course people won't be able to access that information on our site from here any more, as I've seen posts have already started to be hidden on the basis that they include a link to our website, even though it appears from the discussion here that no decision on that had been reached..

Would all the reports that have been posted this year on Indymedia UK about actions in solidarity with the Palestinian liberation struggle - which you choose to interpret as support for a Palestinian state - or with the Tamil liberation struggle be removed if you had your way, is this 'promoting nationalist movements'?

I think there's a stong need for a site like this and hope it proves a success. I also hope you manage to keep it broad and open to different groups and individuals to engage with. I've no problem with open political debate, but being compared to fascists and the Labour Party, accused of torturing anarchists, down to maybe the most bizarre accusation that we have a 'fetishism for industrial workerism', all by people I don't think I've ever even met and who have demonstrated very little knowledge of what we actually do, does not seem like the kind of attitude likely to attract new people to get involved.
