Hey there,
Here is my proposal for the agenda of the media session based on what I have
heard back from people.
- *Mobilisation and action-specific coverage*. Looking at use of technology,
security, and multimedia collation to bypass the corporate media at such
events
- *Local reporting and community outreach*. Building a permanent base in our
towns/communities to link and report on struggles
- *An aggregator website of anti-cuts and resistance* providing a national
network media platform? Different to Indymedia as not only action reports
but other news. Bringing together existing independent news
sources/collectives. Editorial control?
- *How do we want to go about this*: more discussion? Empowering working
groups to come back with proposals? Another media-based event?
We only have an hour in the first session for this discussion (see the full
agenda here:http://networkxuk.wordpress.com/agenda/). Then there will be
parallel sessions betweeen 2-5. If people are interested in taking
action/proposal-based discussions further then I think it will be possible
to break off into a side-session.
The organisers have told me that Sunday is the allocated space for
workshops. However I imagine the side sessions on Saturday involving
peoples' experiences which will inevitably inform any proposals.
Any thoughts on this, disagreements or things to add?
Cheers, see you tomorrow!
