Hot News - Hoon Knew!

"...... the document [Goldsmith's FULL advice] was only seen by three

cabinet members: Mr Blair; Jack Straw, the foreign secretary; and
Geoff Hoon, the defence secretary." James Blitz, FT, April 28 2005
20:10.

" Who actually saw the Attorney General's advice of 7 March? It is
believed the only cabinet ministers to be copied in to the memo were
Tony Blair, Jack Straw and Geoff Hoon. " Andrew Grice Political
Editor, Independent, 29 April 2005

----------AND NOW--------
Final Briefing for Ashfield Cavalcade:

Just a couple of hot issues dear to the locals, and Hoon's promises
which I suspect (but don't know) he will have done bugger all about.

But first a surprising internet poll run by the local paper "Chad".
Usual caveats, entirely unrepresntative. BUT <humble_pie>I take back
all I wrote about Wendy Jones (LibDem) being bog
standard.</humble_pie>

"28 April 2005
Internet vote
35 per cent of the people who voted in Ashfield said they would not
be voting for any of the three main political parties, but would be
voting for another or independent.

"22 per cent said they intended to vote Labour and 22 per cent also
said they would be voting Liberal Democrat.
Only 13 per cent said they would be voting for the Conservatives and
six per cent said they wouldn't be voting at all."

26 January 2005
ASHFIELD MP Geoff Hoon is to launch a new campaign called
'Ashfield's workforce first'
"I have been involved in talks with unions, local employers and the

He said: "After visiting the site myself and talking to local

And finally, I'm sick - post viral - so probably won't be joining in
the fun Tomorrow. The more of YOUR friends who go in my stead however

the better.

Sutton-in-Ashfield and Kirkby-in-Ashfield are easy to find. Junctions

27 and 28 of the M1 are on the eastern edge of the Constituency -
then just follow the signs to Mansfield (it's that sort of a place!)

Peace be with you.

Struck nerve!
I got a few shocked eMails from Ashfield in respose to "chopped-pork-
and-ham"ming with the attached "irqgirlbig.jpg".
It should print out on A4. ;>
