Jane Scharf, local homeless activist is presently 'sitting in' at the Mayors
office with two of the homeless action strikers from this summers protest,
who Scharf say's "so far have gotten a bum deal".

Jane says " The Mayors office had a greed to take steps to help the homeless
action strikers to establish and maintain housing. So far, many of the
homeless action strikers are still homeless and those who are not, are
insufficiently housed and are still at risk of homelessness."

On Oct. 7th after Scharf was released from 38 days in prison with all bail
conditions lifted by, as she calls him, a Judicious Judge, Justice McFhee,
Scharf entered City Hall to pursue the afore mentioned deal, she was
arrested by Ottawa police because they had not yet updated their computer
system and claimed Scharf still had bail conditions not to return to City
Hall.

Scharf was released a few hours later and immediately returned to City Hall
to make an appointment with the Mayors Office once again. They asked for her
contact information and they would get back to her. Scharf says she has
returned today because to this day, no one from the Mayors Office has
returned her call to make an appointment.

Jane says she is making her request in writing to speak with somebody from
the Mayors Office, and will be responding to their questions in writing to
give staff at City Hall no opportunity to "claim" that they were "being
disruptive".

Scharf says they have urgent business in this building and they do not
intend to leave until this business is resolved. IE: Until each and every
homeless action striker is housed sufficiently.
